Wow! The xmas stay at this hotel was an incredible experience. The staff was very friendly and hospitable, making me feel right at home. The complementary breakfast was affordable and met my dietary needs. The location was ideal for exploring the local attractions, which were within a 15-minute walk. I loved the vintage decor and the cozy atmosphere, especially in the common area where I could read comics and play guitar. Plus, the cat and dog were adorable.
The only downside was the difficulty of reaching the hotel with heavy luggage due to many ups and downs and some stairs in front of the hostel. Also, the house was a bit cold as it was made of wood, but additional layers and sticking with the heater fixed that minor issue.

We had an amazing stay at this hostel! The traditional Japanese house on the hill is very quiet at night, and the living room is filled with manga and board games! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and we loved playing with the cute dog and cat. The cleanliness of the hotel facilities is amazing, and everything was well-prepared for us. This hostel is located near the shrine with a beautiful view of the city and within 15 minutes walking down to the canals, making it an ideal location for exploring the city on foot.
Nothing not too like.

Spent Xmas at this hostel, which turned out to be perfectly located near the main attractions and a short walk from the train station. The hostel's character was a draw, and the cozy beds were a bonus on the snowy nights. appreciated the free towels and bed sheets. Would recommend as a budget option for travelers who don't mind a shared bathroom.
The shared bathroom and toilet facilities can be a bit cramped, so it's best to avoid peak times. The creaky floors and lack of soundproofing meant it was tough to sleep when other guests were in and out of their rooms all night.

Spent Christmas here with friends and it was amazing! the decor was so unique and charming. the family that runs the hostel was incredibly kind and hospitable, offering us homemade food and great conversation. A key highlight was the adorable corgi and cat that added to the cozy homey feeling. the location was perfect - close to several attractions and just a short walk away from a great view of the city. loved the opportunity to relax and play board games in the common area.
The hostel lacked adequate privacy as the curtains on the beds did not fully close and there were no locker boxes. the wood house can be a bit chilly, but we were provided with heaters.
